Harley Augustino, Executive & Training Director
With 25 years of experience as a labor, tenant, student, and community organizer, Harley Augustino has held various pivotal roles including non-profit Executive Director, Organizer Trainer, Development Director, Union Organizing Director, Campaign Manager, and Elected Official. His journey in organizing has been profoundly shaped by training from Dolores Huerta and other leaders from the United Farm Workers, as well as his 14 years with the hotel workers union UNITE HERE, and the countless organizers he has had the privilege to train over the years.
Currently, Harley serves as the Executive Director for Base Building for Power, an organization dedicated to training the next generation of racial and economic justice organizers. Over the past three years, they have successfully trained over 300 organizers across the US and Canada. As President of Volunteer Recruitment Strategies, he enhances the capacity of labor and community organizations in the US and Canada through comprehensive training and coaching support.
Harley lives in Portland, OR, with his husband and bearded dragon, and moonlights as a jazz saxophone musician.
